The Third Floor Animation Department is looking for a Senior Unreal Engine TD to support our final animation department using the Unreal Game Engine. The ideal candidate will come with extensive Blueprinting (Editor Utility) experience. They will work with our animation department to support development and workflow creation in UE4 and UE5.
Project Based. Full Time. Remote Position. Must be in the state of California, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York (Outside NYC), Colorado, or Canada for remote positions.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate and advise on data I/O for Unreal
Drive the planning and implementation of editor-based tools, including Editor Utility Widgets and Artist-facing tools
Support the art team with exporting assets (Static, Skeletal, and Animations) from Maya and other DCC’s to ensure Unreal compatibility
Support and oversee the technical implementation of assets within Unreal
Support Rendering efforts, including debugging render layer issues and managing MRQ settings
Essential Skills:
Inside out knowledge of Unreal
Experience working with Maya or other DCC software
Excellent Python skills, particularly for Unreal, Maya and/or Houdini
Experience designing pipeline tools for Unreal
Experience with performance profiling in Unreal
Experience creating functional levels in Unreal
Excellent knowledge of Unreal Blueprints and Editor Utility Widget development
Experience with Perforce and/or other source control software
Proven industry experience, with a SR or Lead TD credit on at least one published project
Desirable Skills:
Excellent C++ skills
Experience with Alembic workflows for Unreal
Experience with Houdini, particularly Houdini Engine for Unreal
Experience with Maya Livelink for Unreal
Personal attributes:
Able to think creatively and resolve technical challenges and limitations
Excellent communication skills at all levels, both on a technical and creative basis
Artistically as well as technically inclined
Strong time management & organization skills.
Strong teamwork ethic
The pay scale is between $20 - $70 / hour based on experience, skillset and other factors. We work an average of 5 hours of paid overtime a week. Additional TTF benefits: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), Sick Time, 401k (staff only), PTO (staff only), and additional Perks & Benefits.
